Veteran's Lodge Updates

July 13, 2019
Attention Veterans Lodge supporters! We’re excited to announce that we have finally completed the design process and are moving forward on the structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering plans. We plan to have the construction office on-site in the next two weeks and will begin the 12-month construction of Phase 1 in approximately 30 days. We appreciate your patience and continued support as we work to make this incredible vision a reality for veterans in DeFuniak Springs and surrounding areas. Please continue to check back for progress updates and visit VeteransLodge.org for more information or to donate to Veterans Lodge.

Today was the groundbreaking for Veterans Lodge in Defuniak Springs. The people with the shovels are all veterans! The sun was shining but...it was cold & windy but the show must go on! Joseph Register, his sister, Melissa, Army veterans, Judge Patt Maney, an Army veteran, another veteran (not sure of his name) and John Schmidt, an Air Force veteran were in charge of the shoveling!

The Veterans Lodge will be a village composed of all the elements described herein created in a serene, peaceful setting. Our prototypical Lodge will be located on 150 to 300 acre tracts of land in close proximity to military bases, medical facilities and educational institutions. When you enter our grounds we want you to feel like you have entered into a new and inviting environment where the main focus is rehabilitation of your spirit, soul and body. This area includes the motorcade and open lawn event space. You will be welcomed by a tranquil environment, open spaces, and beautiful architecture and landscapes.
